ExportDoc Worldwide v. 6.1 Update No. 87 Release Date: 06/26/2020 1. ExportDoc has been re-tooled for the transition to the USMCA trade agreement. The following changes have been made: a.) All references to NAFTA have been removed and replaced, where applicable, with references to the United States-Canada-Mexico (USMCA) Trade Agreement. References to USMCA throughout the application will be dependent on the location where the software is installed: in the U.S. the references are "United States - Canada - Mexico" (USMCA); in Canada, "Canada - United States - Mexico" (CAUSM), and in Mexico, "Mexico - United States - Canada" (MUSCA). b.) The NAFTA document has been removed and replaced with a similar document. Please note that the USMCA does not prescribe a specifc document, but rather allows for any document to be used, as long as it includes certain elements, the specifics of which can be found on the reverse of the document. In previous iterations of NAFTA, a form was prescribed and permission could be sought as to its validity, which is currently not the case. We have striven, as best we could, to conform to the documentary requirement of the USMCA. However, feedback with respect any issues that may arise would be most appreciated. c.) After the name of the individual or company has been entered into the addressbook, select the entry in the folder section, and either click the Denied button in the button bar or rightclick>Denied, and ExportDoc will download the most recent version of the list and compare it to the entry. The list, dpl.txt, is placed in the main [drive:]\Ed\ folder and as such, ExportDoc must be granted internet access to perform this task. ExportDoc uses a loose comparison algorithm, and if a match is found, a prompt will appear to print a report. Reports matching output types selected in File>Setup>Output will be printed/created and placed in the [drive:]\Ed\Graphics\Reports folder. Please note that while the DPL file contains the known variations of names on the list, it is by no means comprehensive, so it is always good business practice to 'know your customer.' ExportDoc Worldwide v. 5.2 Update No.44 Release Date: 06/7/2011 1. The way ExportDoc stores and displays graphic logos and signatures has changed. Previously, ExportDoc stored the contents of the graphic file (logo and signature) directly in a field of a datafile record. This method has become problematic over time with different versions of Windows and different graphic cards. At times, it would only display the file name and not the actual contents. ExportDoc will now store only the reference (path) to the location of the file itself. It is therefore important that the files used for logos and signatures are located in a stable location. Our goal in this change was to minimize the disruption to our customers. We have attempted to retain the contents of the existing fields and have them converted to a separate file whose reference replaced the graphic field in the data record, but were unsuccessful where it came to consistency. So unfortunately, users will have to manually re-enter their graphic logos and signatures. It's fairly quick and easy, just follow the instructions below. For company logos, go to the Addressbook, select the appropriate company in the Exporters group, rightclick, Details and in the Notes tab and click the Select button. Using the Open dialog, navigate to the logo graphic file. Please note the filetype dropdown should match the type of file of the logo graphic; BMP, JPG, GIF and Icon types are supported. For best results use type bitmap (BMP) no bigger than 350 X 200 pixels. Click Apply, then in the Company tab, click the Set As Default Party button. In a multi-user environment, this action must be performed for every user, since ExportDoc allows for multiple user profiles and multiple shipper/exporter identities. For signatures, go to the Addressbook, select the appropriate company in the Exporters group, rightclick, Details and in the Contact tab, place the cursor in the appropraite record then click the Select button. Using the Open dialog, navigate to the signature graphic file. Please note the filetype dropdown should match the type of file of the signature graphic; BMP, JPG, GIF and Icon types are supported. When complete, uncheck/check the Default checkbox next to the appropriate name, then click the Apply button. Finally, in the Company tab, click the Set As Default Party button. In a multi-user environment, this action must performed for every user since ExportDoc allows for multiple user profiles. For those who may not feel uncomfortable performing this operation, we would be happy to do it for you on-line remotely at no charge. Just contact us at 800-764-4472. Please have your logo and signature files available. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. 2. The Direct Collection Letter (DCL) document has been added. It can be found in the International Documents section. As an amalgam of several banks' DCL documents, it can be used for most direct collections. It enables/disables the appropriate controls depending on whether it's an ocean or air shipment. Click on the blue title text in the port box to toggle between type of shipment. In order to create MS Word documents and MS Excel spreadsheets, you MUST have MS Office 2003 or higher installed on the respective workstation. This appears to be the generally accepted approach to completing these documents. The unit of measure (UM) has been expanded to 30 characters to accomodate a fuller description in that column. 6. For Livingston customers, ExportDoc now supports eLink on-line document filing. To do so, proceed as follows: 1. Complete the worksheet. 2.
